Background Screening

While in the USA background checks are an accepted business practice, in Asia such approaches remind many people of a sinister pre-democratic past. What to do? Not doing the check opens you up to the risks as described in the “K Virus” case study.

RiskMentor.org recommends you tailor your screening to the importance of the position to be filled and we will be happy to tailor our service to your needs. .

Background Screening Case Study 1 : Foreign Bank Branch in Japan

This entity was told by the Japanese FSA to “improve its risk management” and on inquiry as to what that meant was told to check the background of senior hires before recruitment. All personnel above DVP level were checked and while many were fine, 30% had minor misleading discrepancies in their resumes and three in 100 had trouble where the police were called in. None had “done time” but the issues merited the attention of the HR head and company division head.
